LRP 2007 Edition Sphere Competition

I had ordered a lrp 2007 edition sphere competition speed control combo . And when I recieved it, there weren't any female bullet connectors installed onto the wiring to hook my brushless motor up! What gives ? Did I get a faulty speed control:rolleyes:

I do not know of any ESC that comes with bullet connectors. It should be soldered; but, you can use such connectors if you want.

Don't place them on the tabs of the motor though. One minor accident and you can easily have them short out to each other.

There is not a Vector motor shown on the LRP website with bullet connectors.

What model of X11 is that in the picture? Or did you buy that motor used from someone?

Oh...Nice job with the picture!

Its a Vector X 11 7.5 I bought it brand new  I think someone made a mistake with the packaging I bought them in a combo. I also bought a Associated B4 Buggy and I haven't had anyhting but trouble with the parts being molded correctly! Starting to wish I had never even started this project. I am about burnt out with it and havent even got it going yet:mad:

:rolleyes:Seems like I am going to have to de-solder the wires from the motor! And, solder the wires from the esc to the motor!!!!

Thats not really a big job, besides you can cut the wires to the correct length. If youre not into soldering, Im sure someone at your local track or hobby shop can help you out with that no problem.

Thats the best advice i have gotten off these forums so far! Allot, of people tell you what to do and have no earthly idea what there talking about! I still think I might use some type of bullet connectors. Not sure yet:nod:

i ordered mine last year and it arrived at pretty much the same state as yours. didn't use the motor though coz i opted to use the Orion motors. :)

I believe I would be more upset if I purchased a Sphere Comp and it came with bullet connectors. Like buying a set of high end match cells and opening the box and finding a Tamiya connector on them.

LRP has no Idea what cr you will be putting this in. In my fwd my wires about an inch or so long but my car they are much longer. I really wasnt sure why the motor came wired. Like Andy mentioned your LHS can assist if your soldering skills arent up to the task.

The Vector motors come with those bullet connectors on the motor. I wouldn't actually use them on any motor--brushless or brushed, they look like standard cheap bullet motor connectors-only gold plated. De-solder the wires from the Vector motor, and solder the ESC wires to it. You didn't get faulty packaging, they all come like that.
