Default What would you buy?

Will be investing in an 1/8 truggy or buggy soon and have been looking at a few different radios at the LHS. I had thought that I wanted a Spektrum 3.0 and figured that the $250 was a decent price for what you get. (about $50 less mail order at some places because of savings and tax) However, I was wondering what you guys thought and if you had $250 to spend on a radio for an 1/8 scale car what you would buy and why?

I'm not so concerned about weight or size as I am a fairly big guy.

Why not get the best of both worlds and get an 8IGHT or 8IGHT-T RTR with Spektrum already in the car or truck for you?

Damn, that's a good deal. I just checked eBay and you can't even get a nice used one for that price right now, let alone that module and reciever. I guess I'll keep my eye out.

Is the Futaba that much better?

i know i got a good deal on it. it was under a misspelled listing you gotta check those but i have seen them go cheap in the right listings to the m8's go for good prices to. cause really you dont need a m11. the m8 does everything youll ever need i would just check all the radio's on ebay if you dont have your mind set on one certain brand.

I honestly don't even know what's good anymore. Last time I owned an R/C car the RC10 had just come out. All I know about the radios is what I have learned from the LHS, so as you can imagine it's not that much. I'm just trying to go by what I've seen and been told in person. That leads me here, since you guys know where the deals are and have tried and found out what is best for a particular type of vehicle.

Some say that a cheap one will work fine for me, but I've learned the hard way that buying twice doesn't work.

I used to have a dx3.0 and i now use a m11.

the dx3.0 will hold you down. dont spend cheap the first time like i did. The m11 is more intuitive then the dx by far and you may not realise it at first until you start racing with one for alittle while.

Also the "feel" of your throttle and steering is incredibly better. Not just holding it i your hands.

IMHO Nomadio rocks! The only manufacturer with built in real time telemetry. My transmitter tells me my receiver pack voltage, engine temperature, or even battery pack voltage is running electric. Their support is wicked too!

You are kidding me with the part that there support is good?? I have a react and I do like it a lot but I will be getting a 4pk when they come out why becasue I of the fact that Nomadio was not kept there promise to the buyer of a small transceiver more update to the radio. I know that a lot of ppl will say that Nomadio is the best I was there and the React is very very good radio but I had a chance to try out the 3pk in my hand and it felt better than the react.. That one of the reason I will get the 4pk along with the other reason I stated above....

Just my 2 cents..

I'm not sure what your version of customer support is...but mine has nothing to do with a product release. Nomadio (without question) has replaced broken items. They are always on top of any issues I had.

As for the mini receiver...if you need one so bad...buy the Spektrum SR3500 and use it.

What firmware upgrade are you specifically needing!?

KO Propo is releasing the EX-1 UR. It's pretty much a 2.4GHz MARS.

In my case, waiting for another tx means that i'll dump this one, rather update the MarsR and see what happen. In case i've 250bucks i would choose a great radio and upgrade later.
