Did you post this on Tekin's forum for help?
|
no wheres that?
|
You bought a B1 for a 12th scale???? Didn't it come with a manual? Are you using a Futaba 3PK?
The B1 is to be used with micro motors like 180s and 380s not 540s. For 12th and 10th scale you should have bought the FX or FX Pro. Oh, in case you can't figure out where their web site is it's called teamtekin.com I think. Just Google Tekin. |
i was in formed that they are also for 12 scale stock by my lhs
|
It's New Year coming up not April Fool's day. They saw you coming.
1/12th scale uses the same motors as 1/10th scale but with 4 cells so why would you buy a micro ESC? Didn't you read the label. Take it back and DEMAND a refund then learn how to read so you know what you are buying. (It says right on the package that it is an ESC for micro cars like the RC18s, HPI micro RS4, Scalpel, etc.) |
well i know it works cause i have seen it on one of the cefx drivers 12 scales and the shop is running them in their cars
|
Although the B1 is recommended for Micros, it can be used in some 1/12th applications (stock) without any issues. Tekin team guys were running them in Cleveland...
|
thanks rob hope to meet ya at fastcats as of now ill be the guy pushing a 1/12 around the track
|
Well there's your answer you wanted to hear.
When the ESC pops don't say you weren't warned. Although being a Tekin it may last a long time unlike using a Novak Spy or Micro GT. |
officially, the B1 is an 18th scale brushed esc, but in testing, it has managed to cope with 4Cell stock 12th scale, but isn't recommended.
I think you found your way to the Tekin site, and believe I and another user has answered your post. |
Yeah I'm pretty sure he's got the answer to his ?.
Tekin doesn't recomend the B1 for 1/12 scale officially but they will handle the stock motor. The Fx is more designed for this and you will see more and more team guys running them. They extra features in the Fx line are more suited to racing applications. |
Hey RC-guy, you won't have to worry about the B1 in your 12th scale as some of the guys mentioned before it is not recommended officially by Tekin but in testing and in many big races since then it has been just fine with 4 cell stock. The capacitor is very important so make sure it does not get physically damaged, that goes for all the Tekin speed controls.

thanks
