Problems mailing a Li-po battery internationally
 

Hi, My cousin who lives in Chicago purchased a Li-po saddle pack battery for me but he can not mail it to me to England because his post office says that it is dangerous to do so as it could explode. The post office asked him what was inside the sealed padded envelope and he told them it was a battery so the asked him to open it up so they could check it and when they saw it was an unusual shaped battery they told him that it is not allowed.

The question is how will my cousin be able to send it to me? Is there any way that he can send it without them checking whats inside. Has any one else had the sam problem sending internationally? Thanks.

id suggest having him get an invoice from maxamps.
or have him bring something along to where he can show what it does.

Or just get an Orion and print out the IATA (International Air Transport Association) waiver and give it to them. :D

Yep, The USPS has hissy fits about batteries being mailed, sometimes. Depends who's working and in a good mood that day, I guess:weird:. I suggest UPS or FED-EX, they mail anything except live animals. Don't ask how I know that...........:p

Thanks for all the suggestions, Maxamps have also emailed me and it does look like the people at that post office are on a Power-trip. It doesn't help that the battery looks unusual as its a saddle pack. As soon as my cousin told them it was a battery the lady opened to check the parcel without even asking him. Will try another post office or failing that another courier.
