cheap brushless setup

what about this

and this together in my car

under $60 for the whole package?

I was refered to the motors by another guy on here. I don't see the difference outside of not having proportional brakes. It still will work on 6 cells. I know the motor is fine I am more wondering about the speedo.

Dunno about that one, it's an airplane ESC built for seeing a continuous 12amp load, more of a constant thing. It only has a 12amp continuous output, whereas a micro brushless like our Mini Rage is 30amp continuous. Only a 1.5amp BEC output, should be at least 2amp.

I wouldn't use it, I beat on my minis on the track and would probably fry that.

The motor on the other hand could be a decent candidate to try out in a mini, it's almost the exact same size as the MiniRage motors.

the motor was looking like a good find, the esc was the only one that was cost effective, but with no reverse, and limited braking / current handling it is not sounding that good, I think I was reaching on that one, lol

It seems that the mamba units take the same idea of the airplane brushless design and give it car like characteristics. Where the tekin that I have in my rc18t is hard cased and a better fit for cars / trucks. IS there any other good hard case esc's out there that are programable, or is there a way to by the tekin rage just speedo only?

the can on that motor is only 30mm, compared to a mamba at 45.
it's also only rated for 12A.

bigemike 12-07-2007 05:11 PM

they make one with a45mm at the same price

cfwdude 12-08-2007 02:06 AM

The only other Electrify motors that are 45mm long are 24mm diameter with a 3mm shaft. good luck finding pinions.

The mamba's are 20mm diameter and 2mm shaft's.

hoep that helps, I have been told these have power equal to the bigger mamba motors. Heck almost worth getting for that price.

cfwdude 12-08-2007 09:29 AM

Ok, yeah that's a 40mm can. yeah it will work. Just don't expect the performance to be equal to one of the mamba's or tekin's.
