help with futaba fm controller

Hi all . We have not long ago purchased the futaba controller and some of the adjustments let you go to 120% . My main query is with the throttle adjustment - what benefit would their be going past 100% ? My young son had it set on 120% and we did have thermal issues others at the same gearing do not appear to have - can running on 120% contribute to this ? Thanks in advance:nod:

Broady,

Most ESCs require you to set your throttle EPA to "max" when setting the ESC. This means max travel, i.e. 120% or whatever the limit is in the radio. The thermal issues could be caused by lots of things but usually it's just overgeared or something is bound up in the driveline causing extra drag on the motor.
