Icharger 308duo temp sensor problem.
 

Last night I had to show up to the track late so I sent all the gear and my 14year old son to the track with my buddy to get setup before I got there.

When I got there he had a battery on channel 1 and it was showing the unsafe temp error. Tried to run the charge again before I realize he had the 2s balance plugged into the temp sensor instead of the balance port despite the fact he’s done it multiple times previously and I told him to watch for that. Hasn’t caused a problem before but now it’s reading 124deg C with nothing plugged in and it immediately shows the error when you try to run a charge. Has anyone had that happen or know how to recalibrate the temp? Channel 2 is reading and working normally. Apologies if it’s in the manual but I read it again recently and don’t recall seeing that.

The temp sensor is most of the times an LM35 sensor, its output is max 1.25v @ 125 degrees C so in the most worst case you did blow the input of a microprocessor.

Do you think it is worth trying to just replace the sensor? Not sure where’s the best place to find parts. All I could find are buttons and screens.

I do not think the sensor is defect, it must be somewhere at the input on the charger. Just looked at is and pretty stupid to use a same JST-XH connector for the temp sensor but on the other hand it is also stupid to plug the balance connector to it. That it did happen before tells me it is not easy to blow up something so probably not the processor. You need to open the charger and look around the connector if you can see something burned.
