Replace servo motor

Hello all,

I did something silly last night and burned out the motor in a protek 155T. I called AMain and they don't repair them. Does anyone know if there is a company that does or if it is something I can do myself?

Is it the motor or the electronics? Finding the right motor will be more difficult than repairing the electronics.

Maybe contact protek ?

Pretty sure it's motor. After my silliness there was a burning smell and visible smoke after which the servo stopped working. Might just disassemble it and take the opportunity to see the gearing and see if maybe there is a part number on the motor.

To my knowledge ProtekRC and AMain are one and the same. This facebook page lists all AMain contact info.

I also searched for Protek RC Service Center and other similar searches and found nothing.

I don't think anyone repairs servos anymore other than replacing stripped gear sets.

Not uncommon to see folks buy a new servo to get current warranty protection and then send in the damaged servo for warranty claim and then keep the replacement as a spare.

They are the same company. If you really must replace a part you might want to find out whoever actually makes the servo.

Boards blow out faster then motors. Time to upgrade if you're messing with RTR. Its the hobby of upgrading!

I do not think the mentioned 139 dollar Protek 155 is some RTR junk.....
