Questions?? Is a Maclan Mmax Pro Still a good ESC?

Racing a RC10SC6.2, 13.5t truck on multiple surface types. I have a burned Maclan Mmax Pro that I can have fully refurbished by Maclan for $120.
Some questions for discussion:
- Are these still competitive ESCs?
- Are there better alternatives at this price?
- Are there better alternatives at higher prices and should I spend the extra cash?

Thanks, y'all!

For that cost you are close to getting the hobby wing XR10 160amp (old version has just been rere'd in Europe at least as the V4 - not sure about the states)

After the poor service I got from Maclean, I would not give them a .01. With that being said, I think they are ok in terms of still being revenant in the field. I would recommend any HW, or for a little more money I would recondmed the ZTW made ones (Team Powers, Fantom, Pro performance). I think the ZTW ones have really good brakes, and seem to handle the power better than HW.

I run Maclan in 17.5 buggy. It's been reliable, and I like it fine. But the thing is a heavy tank and is pretty big so I would not buy one again for any spec class racing.
