Seeking opinions:
I completed a new TLR 22 SCT 5.0 Vision Racing Conversion at the end of summer for the indoor winter carpet season. I typically run Sanwa PGS servos in my vehicles. So when I built the SCT I threw in the Sanwa I had on the shelf which happened to be a Sanwa PGS-XB II. I also had a new Pro Performance XTS600-HT. I won’t dig too deep into the initial, but it was heavily based on having a consistent brand in my equipment. With that said, is it worth pulling out the PGS-XB II in favor of the XTS600-HT? (I may eventually pull the PGS-XB II for a 1/8 eBuggy down the road anyway.) Let the opinions fly! |

Stick with the Sanwa. I don't think that Pro Performance has enough torque.

The TLR 22SCT is a 1/10 scale 2WD short course truck. I’m surprised to hear the XTS600-HT wouldn’t have enough torque. The PGS-XB II of course has a ton of torque since it’s a high torque full size for 1/8 scale.

Problem today is that people have no experience with low power servo's. When I started 1/8 gas onroad I was running Futaba S148 servo's, a crappy analog 3kg servo. Digital servo's have a much better hold power than analog so basically a 3kg digital servo should even work better. The guys with 1/8 buggy's back then were using the more expensive 4 to 6kg servo's.
So at least 10kg for some 1/10 2wd car is still overkill. |
Thanks for input. The XTS600 also has much faster transit speed than the PGS-XB II.
It does have me wonder what “true stall torque” vs “dynamic torque” means in Pro Performance market vs what Sanwa, ProTek, etc use in their specs on Amain. |
Dont you mean they are yantrs servos!!!!!!!.
Problem all servos but a few are made in china with a new sticker:nod:. |

btw the new Pro Performance offroad carpet servo is amazing, new hot laps along with top 5/top 10 times tonight! they also don’t embellished their specs and use real stall torque ratings |
Iv had them all...
Srt by fare the worst Nitro pro or nothing 3yrs now ct1 ct2 ct3 rt2 all have been flawless |
Is anyone racing 1:10 TC with power HD servos? Interested to hear some feedback.

Any gripes with nsdrc servos? My only experience with a mini b servo. My afgrc ripped to shreds after putting nitro sedan tires on it. The nsdrc has held up so far but the tires are starting to make other parts break  too much mechanical grip!!! Anyway my agfrc b44bls servo finally died on my 1/10 2wd 17.5 blinky buggy. It went through a lot of abuse from a noobie driver. It held even after crashing head on to the wall after a straight away although that might have chipped a tooth and eventually caused it to fail. The nsdrc rs 400 seems to be a good fit. Personally I like the low profile servo so I can more room for wires and a little spot for the capacitor to sit in. I would have stayed with the afgrc if the replacement gear set want so damn expensive to ship. 30 dollar shipping on 12 dollar gear set when a new servo cost almost the same. Crazy. Might as well try something new.

I have around 20+ race weekends on these servos. |

Hitec 9381.
Watch out on the specs. The speed spec mentioned in the OP, would be a servo geared for speed. It'll slow down under load in a truggy. You want a high torque servo in truggy. Hitec d945 would fit the OP spec well, though. When you see absurd speed and torque specs, it's BS. Better to see what people are using, not what specs they're chasing. A Tekin t300 would be a good choice too. but yea torque is the key |
