Is it ok to remove speed control switch and splice wires?

I bought a used truck with a mamba x and was looking for the switch and saw the last owner just spliced the wires together. Is that ok?

It's fine but if you want to program it an on/0ff switch is needed. A switch is cheap to and it's safer. As soon as you plug in battery pack the power is on.

The switch is needed for programming. Programming button is built-in.
