Voltage regulator
I'm sure this has been covered but I had no luck doing a search. I have a few lipo receiver packs but most of my good servos are Savox 1256 and 1258. I hate to introduce an extra possible point of failure but i have too many new and like new servos that arent hv rated. Are regulators reliable? What's a good company to look to for a regulator?

It is called a BEC and also sold as an UBEC and an SBEC. You can find them in most hobbyshops because they are well used on planes and boats.
Another more simple solution is use 2 diodes in the powerline. A normal diode takes 0.6~0.7v so with 2 you will lower the voltage with 1.2~1.4v You can also use a LiFe receiver battery. then there is no need for lowering the voltage. |
There are a lot of cheap BECs out there, I like Castle Creations for a quality unit.
