Having the right setup definitely makes a big difference. The track configuration before this last one had a hairpin turn then a double jump and I noticed most other guys could clear them easily even taking the hairpin turn slow but I had to basically drive through the turn fast to have a chance to clear the double jump which resulted in me wrecking more often rather than being able to take it easy then hit the throttle.
How are your motor temps doing at the end of a heat? |
Temps are low. Around 115deg.

Only one straight so your probably right, I need to gear for more torque

It’s definitely worth it to get a set of pinion gears. I like the ones from yeah racing. They aluminum so no steel interface, nice coating to keep noise down, and a set of 6 in a nice box. I got 3 sets to have covered from 21-38

I definitely need to invest in a set of pinions. Currently I only have a 29, 30 and 31. I’ll check out the Yeah Racing brand, I’ve heard good things about some of their parts they sell

So, what do you all think about a Surpass Rocket V5R 17.5T. Are they able to compete with $100 motors?
