Battery Choice
hi everyone,
I have been looking into new batteries for my sct but I am not sure what to go for out of my 2 options which are a 2s lipo or a 3s lipo. my option are that I go for 3 3s lipos that have 3300mah each or I go with a combination of 2s 4000mah lips x2 and a 3s 3200mah x2. the price is the same but I am not sure if I go with the more power and less runtime or 2 long lasting battery and 2 powerful batteries. the current are the same on both batterys which I believe is 35c. cheers Jack |
Are you racing or just bashing? If racing, 2s is your option for 1/10th scale and I'm not aware of 1/8th scale SCTs currently on the market.
That being said, 3s and 4s are really fast in most 1/10th scale and make them a bear to drive. Have you driven your truck on 3s or 4s before? |
Also look what the electronics can handle, most 1/10 ESC's and motors are rated up to 3S max

I am just bashing I am trying to get the most amount of power which is a 3s but I would also like a long run time really my main question is is there huge difference between the 2 batterys because I am leaning towards 2x2s and 2x3s to give the best of both worlds.

I found that 2S puts way too much abuse on the electronics and my 2S batteries would wear out too fast, more info here:
https://www.teknoforums.com/threads/...389/post-14872 Over time, I would experiment with 3S, but eventually settled on 4S with a 3660-1800KV motor offering peak efficiency and performance to where I ran a full 20 min main mixed in with nitro buggy at the local club in my area: https://www.teknoforums.com/threads/...389/post-22242 For a basher (or racer) the best bang for the buck and to keep long term costs at a minimum, then 4S is the only option I would ever consider. Very few clubs enforce the dated 2S limit imposed by ROAR which I believe is the main reason why SCT died off, as technology changed the rules should've been adjusted accordingly. |
