HV Servo hook up

So when you have a servo that is faster at 8.4v do you hook up the red wire to the 2c lipo you are running as I realize the receiver will only give it 6.0v?

And then leave the other two wires in the receiver plug? Anyone know of a plug that will do this or just re-wire myself?

I remember back in the 90's the KO Servo and a 4th wire coming out of it for the high voltage. It was the PS 1001 fet servo.

you build Y splitter for battery and power it thru that.

Or alternatively some ESCs can configure the BEC voltage output. It's not the receiver that defines the available voltage.

Just keep in mind the battery voltage will not be constant when you run your vehicle. it will spike up and down depending on the driving and demand of the motor/esc. This will affect the servo steering speed if you hook it up directly to the battery giving you inconsistent steering speeds and would probably affect your driving. The BEC on the ESC might not go up to 8.4V, but at least the ESC will supply a consistent voltage supply throughout the battery's voltage range.

Or just think if you do need that extra speed or ask your self is a better servo would be an answer.

And then that better servo will probably also be faster at 8.4V so they'd just be asking the same question again.

HV also boosts torque which can improve efficiency/temps and put less strain on the BEC which can help extend the life of the electronics all the way around.

Thanks everybody!
