I heard that there is a new Sanwa coming out. Is there any info on it at all. Leaked photos, specs, estimated ETA?

they always add a "s" so since they just change the mt44to mt5 im guessing the m17 will be change to M17-S and just like mt5 it will not be compatible with older generations

They're just guessing, since there's no info out on it. But they used the MT-5 as an example, because Sanwa already did show they're willing to go backwards by dropping compatibility. The MT-5 replaced the MT-44 and doesn't support FH4 receivers.

It looks like only the MT-5. The MT44 had the FH3 option. The M17, M12S, and MT-S went back at least a previous gen.

The MT-5 is the newest of all those radios, so could indicate a change in that policy.

It seems that one is also FH5 only, breaking compatibility with most existing receivers.

And I like how the first few words introducing this lower end radio are "Introducing the high cost...".

Makes me wonder if I should buy a mt-44 for my kid now and hold it for later for him. He'll need an upgrade at somepoint. Then again, I have a gaggle of FH5 receivers that I could put him in the future.

Like all things Sanwa, you have to brush up your Japanenglish, "high cost performance" combined with the advertised price is more like "high cost to performance ratio" lol
