I was hoping to find more than one source as this size is quite rare.
Thanks for the references. |

Apparently you’re not allowed to ask a question that may or may not have been asked before, you must search!!!

Google provides far more results than individuals replying on a forum. 11awg wire is used for more than just RC. In fact it's fairly uncommon to use for RC, so looking elsewhere will likely yield better results.

The beauty of asking on a forum such as this is you get a no-nonsense answer from people who know where the best stuff is and they won't beat around the bush if something is not worth the money. Plus, information does get outdated occasionally and here is the best place to get updated and recent experiences. There are, for example, threads about subjects and products from 2006 that probably shouldn't be counted on any longer.
Call me weird but when I am in the need of something or start a new project I can spend some hours on the net to find the right stuff/information and I think that is just a part of the hobby, not only to be self supporting but also to learn something because in the search I always do see other solutions come by. In this case 11AWG is not as rare as the topicstarter claims. If I did read it right it is is very close to the metric 4mm2 what a common size wire diameter is. |
TQ Wire is the best out.

I got the TQ wire and I must say I am impressed with the quality of their product.

11 Gauge Wire and 1/8th Scale
I ran a 50C 4s battery for years in my 8th scale and had plenty of power, because I was using a 10-gauge wire to double the power, and it worked quite well. Fast forward to my new build the B8 4E. The battery is way more powerful, a Pro Tek 130C 4S shorty that puts the car on steroids. I tried 10 gauge and the motor would warp the front end, thus my search for the right gauge wire. I tried 12 gauge and it was plenty fast but was running too hot. I knew 10 gauge ran cooler, but just too much power. So, I ordered some 11-gauge wire from TQ wire and got it today. I ran it from battery to ESC (RX8) and the motor was too hot, so I ran the 11 gauge from the ESC to the motor (T8) and it was way cooler. Think about it, 12 gauge is just fine for 10th scale, but 8th scale is a totally different beast. I highly recommend that you run 11 gauge as a minimum for 8th scale. The system running cooler speaks volumes. Wires are like water hoses, more amps needs a bigger wire to carry the extra current. I hope my experience helps you out on the track. If you run a 50 C battery, try 10 gauge from battery to ESC, 11 gauge to the motor, and hang on!!!

Changing wire gauge won't give you more power.
