Default Venom pro duo - decent charger?

Need a dual charger and not looking to spend crazy money as I donít charge my batteries at a super high amp rate and just 2S batteries.

Would the venom pro duo fit the bill? Right now Iím using the Lectron 10A AC/DC charger and itís fine expect I need to dual outputs

Also I see a bunch of guys at the track with a charger and then separate power supply.. whatís the purpose or benefit of this?

Separate power supply allows much higher power than the power supply inside an AC charger. AC/DC chargers can use the internal or external power supply. I run an icharger that I can charge on both channels at 30 amps if I wanted to (I usually don't) and can also power other accessories like tire sander, pit light, phone charger, tire truer, shock pump etc. The other advantage is you could power it off your car battery or even a large lipo pack for mobile charging.

Venom makes okay chargers, same type of stuff as hitec and other more sport oriented chargers. My first lipo charger back in '08 was a venom. Venom has gone out of business though, so you probably wouldn't have any recourse if you needed repair or warranty.

A friend of mine had a Venom Pro Duo, I don't think it was a good value based on what else is on the market.

I tend to recommend the HOTA changers. They have an AC/DC line, can get 2C charge rates on most packs, balance current is good.

Venom seems to have questionable quality. Some people have had no problems with their Pro Duo, but there are a lot reviews saying the unit didn't last. I would suggest checking out something like the Hitec X2.

Default Venom dual charger

I have the Venom Dual charger. I like it. I also have the Venom LIPO batteries as well. However, there is one problem. Venom is going out of business. This is very unfortunate .

Hi,

Take a look at the Sky RC range of chargers:

https://www.skyrc.com/Charger

They have a few dual channel chargers.

Didn't Venom file for bankruptcy last month? Why buy a charger that you can't get warranty on? Unless you get a smoking closeout deal.

Pretty good specs on the D6 Pro, and the D6+ chargers.

I had bought the D6 (non powered) because I already had a power supply. I pretty much love it. When I went shopping for a new charger, it was the balance current spec that I paid close attention to. The Hota chargers had the highest balance current spec that I could find, and that fit my budget.

Thanks for the recommendation and explanation as to why it was the choice for you. After looking at all the suggestions posted here and like ones I found while searching, I have a D6 on the way.

Thanks everyone!
