Futaba T10PX extra channels
My stepson recently got a wild hair and bought the new T10PX radio with the intent on needing the extra channels. I see what looks like a hub that would allow us to add channels and telemetry over and above the 4ch rx that's included with the radio. I haven't played with sbus tech much and have always bought the appropriate sized rx for the amount of channels I need. However that's not an option for the futaba surface systems. So I guess I have a few questions considering he also plans to run multiple escs.
question 1. What will be need over the 4ch rx to fully utilize the 10 channels? 2. How do you program the function of the extra channels? 3. When hooking up dual escs do you have to disconnect the positive wire of the extra esc when hooking to the rx? 4. Can you use the digital dial to blend the dual esc mixing rate? I'm sure this is only the beginning of my questions. I wish there was separate sections for different brands. |
I cant answer the rest of your questions, but as for what needs more than 4 channels, scaled RC often needs a lot of channels. you have a channel for steering and throttle, then add diff lockers, reverse gear, high low range, triggering lights and sound, winch, channel mixing for front and rear steer...thats 7 channels already. There might be other accessories you can add which will take up more channels hence why Futaba came out with this radio.

What have you tried to find out your self? If you did look around you would have noticed there is a10PX central topic......
1) Futaba has an option to convert SBUS into a normal servo channel. Probably programable through the SBUS port on the transmitter. On Banggood and Aliexpress you can find SBUS to PWM converters in 10ch and 16ch. 2) With the chinese converters probably no programming needed, the Futaba 1 channel converter you probably need to sign a channel number to it but you can look up the manual. 3) yep, or else there is a chance of fsmoke 4) That I do not know but maybe you should read the manual. |
I was asking what will be needed to get the 10 channels when the radio comes with a 4ch Rx. Thank you for your response.

Did you ever get this figured out? From what I understand you can use the sbus to control additional servos, so you need an sbus decoder.
|
You need sbus and program other functions. Don't buy telemetry as you will spend a fortune. If you're not dead set on a radio Use a multi channel box radio. No mess with adding channels.

You will need an sbus hub that will connect to the sbus port on the RX. You will need to use Futaba Sbus servos in the application, or purchase converters from Futaba.

Beside that, if you are willing to spend 700~800 dollar for a transmitter than some sensors are pinuts. |

I like my Telemetry. $70 really isn't a fortune to get onboard temperature reading or $50 for battery voltage.

[QUOTE=1995 Monster T;15963456]. All I need is GPS and rx battery voltage./QUOTE]
My Futaba 3PV shows rx voltage when I use T-FHSS receiver without any extra equipment. |

YES It is! Everytime you buy a receiver you want to use telemetry you have to buy an Sbuss and it gets expensive! I have a Hite 4s and the telemetry is included in the RX. All I need is GPS and rx battery voltage. Temp.is $10 more. Futaba gps $90 and rx voltage $50 Sbuss $10 Do the math???? Don't get me started on the S buss system?????!!!!!:flaming:
But why telemetry on every receiver? There is only one car I like to have telemetry but for that I have a stand alone 17 sensor system with realtime readout/recording on a laptop. All other cars are just for the fun. And beside that, Futaba receivers just cost half the price than previous Sanwa models where the sensor electronics were build in the receiver. Yep, cheap sensors but expensive receivers......

Sucks to be you i guess. If that small amount is a fortune to you ... I would to see how much a T10PX would be to you. Might have to trade in a car, or mow some extra lawns to afford it.
