Problem - Transmitter or reciever.

Hi folks, my first post 🙂 I am not rc savvy so please be kind about noob questions.

I just purchased a cheap nitro car, brand is HSP, faulty out of the box, maybe.

I loaded the transmitter and reciever with new batteries, turned it all on and there's no steering, throttle works fine. It's not the servo as the steering works if I switch the channel plug thingos, can steer with the throttle control.

How do I determine if the fault is with the transmitter or reciever? Or is it likely to be something else?

Thanks 🙂

plug throttle servo into channel 1 to see if it works more than likely it will not . then id say it is receiver.

Check the D/R setting on the transmitter if there is such a setting.

I've done that, it was dead. Could still be the transmitter though right?

only way to be sure its not radio is get another receiver and see if you have channel 1.

I can do that 🙂, mate has the came car. So just bind it to my transmitter yeah?

Thanks everyone, it was the transmitter.

Again, look at the D/R setting. If that is full turned back you have no steer movement as well.

And since he said he does't know much about RC yet, maybe we should also lift the secret of what D/R stands for: dual rate.

Read manual, I'm sure it'll instruct you to BIND TX and RX.
