HW XR10 Pro Legacy, fan or no fan, that is the question
#1

I am upgrading our D418 and D413’s to the XR10 Pro Legacy ESC’s and I noticed there seems to be a mix of people running with and without fans on the ESC. We are running 13.5, 4wd buggies on indoor clay. Running the HW G3r motors (1stock, the other a Rotor Ron built).
the only reason I would consider no fan is the space, it provides a little more clearance.

As long as the esc doesnt over heat I think you can get a way without having a fan on it. That being said, I would still run a fan if you could.
If you are dealing with clearance issues, try mounting the fan on its side blowing at the ESC. Might not be the best cooling solution, but some is better than none.

i switched to the 160a and never got close to a "high" temp again.
