Slim vs ULCG packs
#1

Looking to buy new packs and curious about the slim packs. I need a 240g battery or close to it, which puts me at a 5500-5800 ULCG pack or a 5200 slim pack. I'm curious if the slim packs were just a fad or if they're worth a try. Running 21.5 touring car.

They were created for left-right balance, I suspect a fad initiated by XRAY for one of their recent T4s, you don't see them in pictures any more.
Given the same weight of pack, the slim pack will take weight off the battery side and add weight to the non-battery side.
Couldn't comment on any IR/performance benefits without seeing figures.

i'd say the slim battery were a fad. a few are available here-- Search - slim
but the 5500mah ulcg is much more popular -- Sunpadow 7.4V 5500mAh 130C/65C LiPo Battery Platin Series JA0017
