Electronics help (what esc)

Got a project. Easiest way to describe it would be 2 motors that need to operate either independently or together. Hovercraft and the two motors will be the propulsion and steering. On forward both motors turn, on left turn, left motor stops, on right turn, right motor stops, and on reverse, both motors spin opposite of forward. Any ideas or recommendations?

You need a V-tail mixer.

Advanced airplane transmitters do have this function but you can also find a simple module. It translate a 2 channel motor/steering into a 2 motor control

Agree with this, though to be clear there's no special requirement for the ESC. The mixing is done at the radio level using multiple channels. You'd just need one ESC per motor.

..And make sure only ONE esc is feeding power to the receiver. ;)
