Wiring for DIY excavator setup
Hi guys I have a custom excavator project I’m working on. I have a t8FB controller and receiver along with an esc. My throttle will be controlling the brushless motor for the hydraulic pump. I have the 3 valves to control hydraulics on boom then 2 small low amperage DC motors that will control forward and backwards on the tracks, which will have high torque gearing to help keep motor load low. And the last motor will be controlling the spinning rotation of the body. I’m curious what channels I should be wiring each of these controls too. This is my first project with 7 channels

a few channels short in iho..10 ch min.

[QUOTE=the rc guy;15838705]a few channels short in iho..10 ch min. Left hand left = S
The left right is one channel running on dc motor
the boom/ bucket movements are run off servos on channels that will open bi directional valves |
Put the hydraulic pump on a toggle channel. Why would you waste a throttle control for the pump.

pump will need to be increased and decreased. set psi will work? I dont think so

How often do you need to adjust the pump rpm?

If you're considering buying second radio, it might just be better to pick up a computerized radio like a Radiomaster TX12 or Jumper T-Lite. This will enable you to set up toggles to set whether your sticks are controlling movement of the tracks or hydraulics at the flick of a switch. A setup like this will give you much more flexibility than your current radio.
