When to use Lipo Storage Mode

Hey everyone, just wondering at what point should I use the lipo storage mode for my batteries. Is there a guideline like if the pack won't be used for 1 month or several months?
Thanks

I put them into storage voltage whenever I'm done with them for the day.

Agreed, I discharge my packs to storage voltage levels when I'm done racing for the day.

When you’re done for the day. It’s really that simple.

put in storage mode anytime a lipo wont be used for 24 hours or more

End of every day.

Buy yourself a good discharger and it will make this a breeze. Most chargers only discharge at less than 2amps so it takes forever.

Get yourself a SkyRC BD250 discharger (or an used BD200 if you are on a budget) and it will save yourself a lot of hassles. Then use storage function on your charger, done.

ISDT makes a couple of good discharges that are inexpensive too.

I have both of the ISDT dischargers and they are excellent. The small one is perfect for RC car packs. I use the larger one for my airplane packs (6s) but it will work for 2s too (selectable discharge up to 25 amps).. No more waiting all night while my packs discharge, I'm done in an hour or less now. The large one even connects to an app on your phone.

A ghetto discharger I rustled up was to solder 2 silver cans I had lying around, in parallel and solder some connectors to that shebang. Will discharge a pack in roughly 40 mins. The motors will be roasting hot though, so be careful.

The answer to "At what point do you balance charge/discharge your LiPo batteries" is "As soon as you can". They don't like being full and much less like being empty so the least amount of time they spend in either of those states the longer they will last.
