Replace on/off button XR8 PRO
Hi.
I have the latest XR8 PRO esc and now my on off button is broke. Will this one work on my esc? Do you have to solder it or is there a connector of I open the esc? Any manual for this? part number HW30850005 https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rct...c84469d23.jpeg |
Yes, that switch works with the XR8 Pro, you'll need to solder it on to the circuit board as there is no internal connector for replacing the switch. Just copy the wiring from the switch that is currently there.

if your going to go thru the trouble of opening the esc case why not just solder a female rx plug or crimp the connectors so you have a lesser way of damaging esc. then plug new switch into old switch wires.

+1 the rc car guy
From my personal experience curve I learned cut and splice first with soldering, heat shrink, blah.. however ended up preferring a cold crimp in the end as far as cable repair, vibrations can and will weaken any wetted wire if not properly isolated (fixed) at at least one end so making the splice joint area stiff as possible when using solder is absolutely important. |
