Charging Problem With 1S Lipo
Hello, I’m having issues with my I Charger 206B. It seems I’m not able to charge a 1s lipo however I remember being able to do it previously. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong.
i plug the battery into the charger and put the charger into Lipo Charge mode and select the 1s 3.7 mode. The battery will start charging for approximately 20 seconds then repeatedly beep as it does when the battery is fully charged. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
What is the battery starting voltage ?

are you trying to charge in balance mode?. and it doesn't matter what the starting voltage is unless its near fully charged

There is a rare occasion the charger will continue to charge the battery however it will only charge to 3.89 to 4.00 volts and never reaches 4.19 - 4.20 volts. According to a chart that I found this is basically on the lower side of 80%. Thank you for the replies and helping me try to resolve this issue. |
for some charger, mine is 406, i need to unplug the balance socket from the charger

I had a similar problem with my 406 duo trying to charge a 1S 50mAh cell that was designed for portable GPS unit.... it was as if the capacity was too small for the charger to work effectively, I found it necessary to use an basic USB charger instead.

After running some tests, it seems like whatever pack I charge only charges to roughly 80%. This really has me baffled. I have the i charger 206B that when new 8 years ago cost me $100.00. I’ve certainly got my use out of it. I am really glad it is presenting this problem now before I decide to fly one of my EDF’s or helicopter. Would everyone agree it’s possibly time to invest in a new charger?

what are your chargers setting set at for lipo? maybe do a test set it to nimh and watch it charge when it hits 4.2 volts stop charge at that point. yes could be age of charger.. id just get a 50 watt charger to do the 1 cell.
