looking for battery recommendations for receiver

Looking for recommendations for batteries for my reciever? I have a hump pack 6v but I think it went bad from sitting for 2 years and I really wanted to bash this weekend, so I’m looking for recommendations. I was thinking of using 4 x 1.5v alkaline Duracell’s and then just changing them early or will they not even last me 20-30 mins? ive got a savage x 4.6 btw
I’ve got a hpi sf50 servo for steering and a HPI sf2 for the steering, however i will probably have to upgrade when these break so idk how the newer batteries will like the more power hungry servos.

And then for the future what would you guys recommend? I was thinking of getting those lithium AA rechargeable that are 1.5v and using them in the 4 x battery holder. I don’t really know how I feel about a hump pack again. what do yall think of those? or am i completely fine to run brand new aa each time i wanna bash?

Thanks!

Those NiZn rechargeable batteries can not provide enough current als also normal NiMh AA batteries are not made to provide enough power.

Why not getting another NiMh humpack? They are cheap, a direct fit and a direct fit with your charger. That after 2 years of no use your pack did go wrong is the only reason that it failed...

If you run non-HV servos, get a LiFe pack. I have one which is already more than 4 years old, with weekly running. Get around 2000 mAh capacity, and you won't have to worry about runtime. They are the same size as a hump NiMh, and plenty of manufacturers make them. For example, I've had good experiences with both LRP/Nosram (they have them in different capacities) and Hobbyking's Turnigy 1700 mAh pack

Not sure what charger you have but if it is a simple NiMh charger you can not use it with LiFe or LiPo.
