help with identifying connector pins please
 

I'm currently in the process of shortening wires for electronics on 4 of our current cars and I haven't done this for over 5 years now...I'm perfectly fine with the how to's and crimping tool usage.

I searched a bit about different connector pins and wasn't able to find exactly what I was looking for and was hoping somebody here could point me in the right direction please.

Electronics I have to shorten wires that connect to the receivers and replace connector pins are the following: Orion esc's, mylaps rc4's and Savox servos.

Now I noticed that Savox(left) connector tips are longer with a different contact window, connector pins have different shape and are longer as well as seen in pics compared to mylaps connector and Orion esc's that look like they're identical.

With confinement and all, stores out here are all closed for at least a good month. I'd like to order online so I can continue to work on the cars meanwhile but I have absolutely no idea what to order between jsp, jr, futaba or whatever, plus measurement for the connector pins aren't mentionned anywhere I looked. No info available either from Savox on the matter.

So does anybody know precisely what I should order for each of the aformentionned electronics?

Instead of trying to match the exact socket, unless you feel one is better than the other, just buy new sockets and plugs from amain and crimp away. All the male pins are pretty much universal so the females will be too.

If you really want to do some research, go to digikey or mouser and start digging.

I've been searching alot online before creating this post and I was hoping that since many of us run Savox servos, someone might have already found the answer before spending hours if not days diggin' and maybe come out to square one.

Checked their website already, thanks for the suggestion and searched pololu as well, which seems pretty similar.

Looks like just slightly different manufactures versions of what is intended to be the same functional connector. I see no issue in using either style, just buy plugs and connectors together. The different connectors and plug moldings may not interchange well between designs, may not snap in the housing like it should.

To me the quality of Savox connector pins look like they're of superior quality by design compared to generic ones.

Plus I like the fact that on the connector there are angled edges on one side and as you can see there is a ''S + -'' debossed on the case which helps alot with blacked out wires or with a 12 year old working on his car...just trying to make things as easy and convenient as possible for my son since there are so many things to think about at once and for myself to prevent reverse connections, just in case I don't have 100% focus for whatever reason.

I like you prefer the connectors with a mark for at least the signal wire so you can identify which side to plug into the receiver, but I do use standard unmarked plugs for shortening wires sometimes I can use my pins with the original connectors and keep the markings. I use and keep both Molex and Amphenol plugs and contacts on hand because of the differences manufacturers use. I prefer the Molex when making totally new plugs but here are the part numbers I got these from Digikey but the manufacturers PN should work on any site.

These are the times you wish Radio Shack was still around.

We had an electronics surplus store in town where I grew up which had all sorts of this little stuff. Now I have parts bins full of different connector components because if I am building connectors for the boat or something else, I want extras and it is too expensive to order 1 at a time.
