Surpass Hobby TS160 Brushless ESC
Hi there!
Surpass Hobby recently released an update for their TS160 PRO ESC, which is now called as TS160V2 PRO.
It comes with a separate programming port that I found very interesting over unplugging the esc itself or fan ports
Product Specifications:
Brand: Rocket
Item Number: TS160V2
Continuous Current : 160A
Peak Current: 760A
Forward /Brake /Reverse : YES
Dimensions : 38.2 (L) *30.6 (W) *32 (H)
oltage Input: - 4.8V-9.9V
Net weight : 54G
Gross weight : 149G
B.E.C : 3A 6V/7.2V
Motor Limit: Over 4.5Turns
Motor type : 540 sensored size brushless motor
BEC.: 3A 6V/7.2V
Multi Protection System: Yes
Package listing:
1 x Rocket Turbo TS160V2 Brushless ESC
I'm likely to try one of these escs at a price point of around 100$ and filling this thread with more useful info.
If you have any comments i would be happy to hear

WOW... You would think they would try not to make it look too much like a Hobbywing. Even the programmer. So, is it true that Hobbywing and Surpass ESCs come out of the same factory?

I have been searching for a while but i didn't find any manual or software to download.
Surpass motors are top quality and performers. Hope someone come with some more info about these great looking escs

HW motors are definitely not made by surpass manufacturer, but like you said escs are pretty similar. Once i saw surpass esc programming options somewhere. Is was close, if not exactly the same programming that HW has, including brake frequency, slope and thing like that seen on HW software.

I haven't had a chance to try out their motors, but I heard they were top notch. Makes me believe their ESCs will perform the same.

I had a surpass esc. Till it burned up.. Definitely not hobbywing, at least not the one I had.

Most of the Surpass ESCs are made by ZTW, just like the Dash, Reds, Fantom, HobbyStar, etc ESCs.

Interesting
Notify us if u find this esc worth it.. i was considering between this esc & HW XR10 pro.. since this is cheaper, i might lean towards this.. but i can’t find any review on it yet..

It would be great to have a manual or programming software. But no answer from surpass yet

I have another question with the ts pro 160. Does anyone know what type of connector is used for the 3 wire Progam/ fan plug on the V1 esc?

it is a nice esc. the last page talks about using the program card as a usb adapter and programming with your pc. Do you guys know if that is possible?
