Field charging
Lipo as charger power source?!
Use the 406duo at home off a 24v supply but I need something for field charging, I have the ISDT Q8 and was looking to power it off a Lipo, after input on cell count and mah size. I mainly charge 2S 360mah and 4S 1400mah |

Go to the scrapyard and get a small used car battery

Yes I have used a larger 6S pack as a supply line input to a charger to charge smaller 2S packs at the beach... very important to set the LVC on the charger input so you don't kill your supply battery!

this will all depend on how much weight do you wanna carry?. I used a small 12v rechargeable battery for more than 3 years till I dropped it(end of that it was 12 pounds) it would charge up to 14.4 volts...not sure of exact mah. but I could get 6 charges outa it putting 2100mah back in a 2 cell lipo...it was a lawn tractor battery I purchased thru amazon..it was like 24$ usd..

You can get an 8,000-10,000mah 6s lipo to power the charger
something like this https://www.smc-racing.com/index.php...product_id=590 or you can hook up the charger to your 12volt car battery. |
Could a mini generator allow for more amps/bolts and just run off gas to keep charging? I wonder what the ratio would be
|
Thanks guys
Idea is to be portable and when I go racing 1/28’s id rather not take my PS and charger etc so has thought as the Lipos I use are 2S 360mah I could take a decent size 4-6S and just charge them at my work table. For my other use the smallish car battery would be a good idea, gutted as I had an awesome car audio dry cell battery I had from my competition car audio days I gave away a year or so back 🤦🏻♂️ |
