Help with dead lipos
 

Hey!

Ive got 3 4s batteries and 2 3s batteries that have a dead cell.

(This wasn’t my doing, bought a big battery lot)

Im not real technical when it comes to batteries, I know how to take care of them and how to use them, but not much more.

Is anyone able to remove the dead cells and turn them into 3 3s batteries and 2 2s batteries for a charge?

Or if not, does anyone have any guidance on how to do it without blowing myself up?

Yes, you can re-wire the packs to remove the dead cells, but you can't combine cells between different aged packs because the cells won't be matched.

What is the IR of the good cells? If any cell is above 7mΩ then I wouldn't waste the time.

If you don't know what you're doing, then simply discard the packs, otherwise do this at your own risk!

1st off youll never blow yourself up with a lipo.. they dont blowup total myth
they will hiss for a few second then vent the white smoke then burn off the inside material..seen nicads blow up when dropped to a cement walk seen nimh blow under same event.
you can remove dead cell and convert the others to how ever many live cells are left. but like said not a good idea to mix cells from different packs

What's IR or voltage of each cell? Dont know what you mean Dead Cell.
