Does anyone make wheel-and-trigger controllers for game consoles?

This is something that just occurred to me as I was contemplating buying Forza for my XB1, and then I remembered how much I absolutely hate trying to steer with a thumbstick. I don't have the space for a "proper racing setup" with a bolt-down steering wheel and dual pedals on the floor, and I also don't have the interest in such a complex setup. What I'd like, upon further reflection, is a controller that lets me use my ingrained driving skills from my RC hobby. Does anyone make RC-style wheel-and-trigger controllers for game consoles? You'd think I could get an answer pretty quickly on Google, but it appears I don't know what are the correct search terms to use.

Not sure this is permitted, but I do them basically at cost, so it isn't a business.

Apols. Just saw you said xb1. Doubt that it will work.

Whether or not your specific build will work for me, I'm intrigued. What exactly is the thing you make? It looks like something that takes inputs from a RC receiver and converts it into outputs that a computer will understand. Is that correct?

That's right. It emulates a USB game controller. Connects to an RC receiver and turns throttle/steering into up/down, left/right joystick movements and channels 3+ into buttons.

If I had access to an xbone, I could test...

Interesting. Thanks to your suggestion (and eBay's suggestions based on your suggestion), I discovered that Spektrum makes a DSM2 USB receiver for PCs for use with flight simulator software. I bought one; I don't know if it will work with my XB1, but even if it doesn't, I'll at least have the option to use my RC controller for PC racing games in the future.
