Default Is it worth it to recore an motor?

I bought a used Sct410 that had a tekno Rs4 4600 motor installed. The motor turned but was making some terrible noise so I pulled it and saw that the core was damaged and had been rubbing one one side. Is the motor complete tost? Or should I recore it? Is it better to repair or replace? I’m not sure I understand how these things fail so it’s hard to tell if the core swells or the coil ring swells.

Are you talking about replacing the rotor? It's probably not worth it. You don't know what other damage was done, most likely way overheated.

Or he could get a motor from a reputable dealer instead of some random guy from China that just made an account to try to sell people motors.

Hey buddy. Do you actually think drumming up business this way works?

Top tip rocket man. It doesn't.

On my T8’s I have rebuilt and replaced rotors. Repaired solder tabs brass rivets, repaired solder tab insufficient solder, sensor boards. If the stator is bad then it is scrap, little reason to fix that.
