Default Will a Hobbywing 1060 ESC work with this battery?

WIll a Hobbywing 1060 ESC work with this battery?:

https://www.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...p?I=LXLEAA&P=8
or should I try this battery:

Will the Hobbywing handle these batteries? I am probably just going with a sport tuned motor with these batteries and the Hobbywing ESC for a TLR 22X-4.

Yes, the ESC will work with any 2S Lipo, however you need to set the pins to enable LVC per the manual.

Not sure what you mean to set the pins to enable LVC.

I ran this ESC in my NRX-12 back when there was a 27T brushed spec limit for the class.

I had modified dip pins so that I could fit a fan over the ESC like this:

Basically I bridged the pins with solder across the top but you can see how the pins are used to switch from NiMh (default) to LiPo mode as shown here on the bottom row, where the top row is set to Forward/Brake/Reverse mode:

The esc will come with the bridges for the pins. You just have to make sure it is set to Lipo as you see in the pic. The issue you will run into is the battery connector. That esc comes with a Tamiya connector. The batteries you have listed have an IC3 connector and a Deans connector. You would need to change the connector on your esc.
