Graupner Chargers?

I know they are out of business but does anyone fix them?

billdelong 03-19-2020 08:39 AM

Graupner USA was shut down last month but Graupner Korea is still in business, you might be able to ship your charger to them for repair:

Thanks I guess it will visit the garbage can.

Many people have repaired iChargers, I would hit one of those pages to see what types of repairs they made, could be same issue you have with your Graupner charger

Graupner is still in business!

The USA distributor shut down, meanwhile the manufacturer is "re-structuring", they shut down the plant in Germany and have been moving operations around to China and Korea, I provided a link to their support page.

As far as repairs that folks have been making to the iChargers go, these are repairs made by regular joe's not by an authorized service center, I'd be willing to bet these same folks will be willing to have make the same repair for you if you ask politely.

theres a guy in the UK that can and will fix your graupner..dont know any other info on him..RCgroup he on that site

and you dont need a authorized service center your not gonna void any warranty. and tv repair or stereo repair shop can fix your charger. you might need to get a schematic for repairman think outa the box people.. and free the Bats that caused all this chaos..everything is not made for food.( oh I want the drum sticks from that bad boy).lol

Nick Adams is the Brit who has multiple videos on how to repair the iChargers. I fixed mine, I was lucky, it was just the small soldered in fuses. But you can take your charger apart and look for burnt marks and then replace those components (diodes and FET's normally) that are burnt. It's at least worth a try, the components are dirt cheap.

Thanks- I can take it apart but trying to find parts around here is imposible. First one channel (2) started smoking - turn off and that was it for charging. Channel 1 just gave me a goofy message and that was the end. Or I could wait till they restructure in Cali ( but that won't be anytime soon since they shut down). I'll just pack it way with my Radio that needs to get repaired also.

You can typically find the components on Ebay.

Here's a video of Nick Adams replacing FET's on an iCharger:

And here's an Ebay listing of the FET's he bought to fix the charger. Less than $5 for 10 FET's. https://www.ebay.com/itm/10pcs-IRF32...wAAOSwAWtb03Sw

Well since I had plenty of time on my hands- I took it apart. Could not find anything that looked burnt. Put it back together. If someone want's it you pay the shipping and it's yours. I would guess about 20.00.
