Extra Shielding for noise reduction on Timing System cables
Hey everyone. We had an interesting issue with our mylaps setup. Some guys transponders would not read, others most of the time. Eventually we moved the loop and then it all just stopped reading.
Looking into the manual to get a better understanding of things, our Noise measurements were way up there, like in the 120s. Eventually at the end of the night we moved this one pit box and suddently they dropped down to sub 30s and lower at times. Put that box near the coax part of the cable, and bam same spikes. Anyways, ideally we are looking to run the cables through the ceiling to a better location to get the loop onto the far straight. I would like to know if we want to get better shielding of the cables to drop the noise level what do you use around the cables? |
conductive conduit that is grounded.
