What's the "hot" ESC for 13.5 4WD buggies these days?
#1

I'm getting back into racing and I bought a B74 and now I need electronics. What are people running these days?

Thanks. I do have a Hobbywing Xerun XR8 SCT but I suppose that's too big to run in the B74. It's meant for e-buggy. I had planned on running e-buggy but I really like 1/10th the best... maybe I could use it for a rock crawler or basher.

I'm interested in the replies here. I thought I needed a new one but found the problem so don't, but did a bit of looking. I run an Orca B32 and have no complaints until it stopped working but was told get an ESC with a high amp rating. I don't understand why. But anyway, looking at the resistance some were much better than others and so maybe higher amp rating is an indicator of better components?
FWIW i was all set to buy the SkyRC TS160 - it was an unplanned purchase so the price mattered and the bang for buck is good. It has one of the lowest internal resistance of any that give the resistance (many just say 'super low resistance').
Keen to hear from others though

their website isn’t available yet I am not sure what you are seeing, I have witnessed their products first hand doing well at many races around here so I sent them a message on the Facebook page out of curiosity. The person that I spoke with was very thorough answering my every question. I tried the XSC150P and I went instantly faster and now it is in all of my cars it is the best esc I have ran and I tried many especially the past couple years. Their servos feel better than sanwa servos with my m17 the difference is absolutely amazing it’s all I will be running

If you're just running stock the 80a hobby wing esc is awesome. Handles 13.5 without a fan on the esc and is small and light. I have one in my truck that works great.
If you're going to run mod some times, Then something like the 160a HW or the Reedy 510R is what I'd get. I recommend trying mod as it can be fun and stock gets a lot easier when you go back to it. But not a huge deal if you dont want it.
