Default Help me pick a radio.

I'm looking for a high end radio. Do I get a futaba or sanwa? Which model should look for in these. Looking for a fast response time.

You lucky duck! Response time was quick! What is your price range? I bought a Futaba 4PX from a fellow racer and it’s great. Go to your local track(s) and see what racers are using. Ask questions, ask to hold the radios, and the racers may even let you drive their cars with their radios. Look up the features of each, and there are a bunch of threads about this on RCtech. Please respond quickly, as I prefer fast response times as well. Ha.

If you want and like spektrum, then get one. They’ve always felt cheap in my hands, but that’s just me, my feel, and my opinion. A new Futaba 4PV or 4PM should cost you about $250. People sell nice used Futaba 4PX radios on here for $350 with a case, batteries, and receivers all the time. I don’t know much about Sanwa. If a certain radio/radio brand is very common at your tracks, there will be much more people to help you with yours. That said, it’s okay to have something different. But if nobody has the radio/radio brand you do at your tracks and LHS’s, you’ll be stuck with only us fools on RCtech to do what we can to guide you.

For under 400 I would say get a used M12s or M12. You can even still find them new at that price point and still have all the features you would want from a high end radio. Hold what you can at the track and see which one fits better - at that price point they are all fast and have just about the same features (Sanwa might have more with SHR/SSR)

If your just looking for speed even a mid grade MT-44 is going to be fast as 99% of us need.

Futaba 4px here’s a listing. $250 shipped for a new looking Futaba 4PX. Just one example. It doesn’t say it comes with any receivers or a case. You can get receivers from Dialedhobbies.com for a super price of $35ea, I think. A radio case for $40-$70 and foam insert for $5-$15. If you decide to buy a Futaba, I suggest you hop on that listing and grab it before someone else does. Looks like a nice deal to me.

I just switched from a Futaba 7PX to a Fly Sky Noble NB4.
Believe it not not I felt more connected to my car than with the Futaba 7 PX. The response time on the FlySky is much faster.

+1 its a highend radio with a low price tag, two batteries, changeable weight and made of high quality plastic and alloy unlike other super expensive radios with unacceptable plastic quality, RX are super cheap and small
We switched from m12s/m17 and absolutely love the NB4 bought more after i tried it for the kids.

I agree with those who said to try holding many as possible before you decide you hand is the first and best test and also have a look at the menu see if one is easier to understand.
