The directions are useless plus I am very new to using Lipo batteries so I really don't know what I am doing. Trying for the first time to discharge a battery for storage. I went out crawling this morning came home and wanted to prepare the battery for storage. Along the way it read the battery at 14%. After finally figuring things out the battery is discharging now. my question is what doe the 14% mean. Surely not 14% of the total battery remaining

The charger is a HTRC C150 if that helps.

Thanks

from what I can tell from that charger, the 14% is the remaining battery capacity. Storage voltage should be set to 7.7V for a 2S LiPo (3.85V/cell)

14% capacity left is exactly what the charger is estimating. Every battery meter uses a little different voltage reference to determine capacity, so it's just an estimate. But each cell should be down probably around 3.4v.

If that's the case, the charger when using storage mode charges the battery to storage voltage, instead of discharge. Pretty sure this charger, like most of them that use this software use 3.8v/cell as the storage voltage. Storage mode uses either a discharge or charge depending on what it needs to do to bring the cell to the storage voltage.
