Connectors
I know different manufacturers want you to use their stuff so they can make the money. My question is do most of you that have multiple cars/trucks change all your connectors to the same type? I changed my TRX4 to XT60's because I did not care for the Traxxis charger and battery options. I am think anything else I but would probably be changed to XT60's but need pros and cons on this. Thanks!

I use the old style Traxxas connectors on all my bashing stuff and XT60 on my racing stuff. Never had an issue.

I change all my connectors to the same. had app(hated these) had deans.(ok). went to xt 90 great very happy. I still keep a few connectors so others can use my lipos and a few squids in my charger box ..

I use whatever connector is readily available from the battery manufacturer that I buy from.
For many years, most brands of batteries used Deans compatible connectors and that worked perfectly fine for me up to 6S in my 1/8 cars. I don't run 1/8 anymore and now race with higher end brands of batteries that come with 5mm "in line" bullets... used to be that 4mm bullets were industry standard but now it's 5mm bullets... I actually bought a bunch of EC5 connectors in bulk, not that I actually use them, but I have found the included 5mm bullets to be perfect for my needs... what's important is to shorten the length of the leads from the ESC so you can't accidentally reverse the polarity when hooking up in line bullets... this also ensures the least possible resistance too with minimal wiring an 1 less connection point ;) |
