Default Suggestions for new radio/transmitter

I picked up a lightly used Traxxas 4-Tec 2.0 VXL, and the radio loses connection to the transmitter after only driving 75-100 feet away

So ... suggest a radio/transmitter combo that works but won’t break the bank. Under $100 for the combo would be awesome.

A Tactic TTX300 is a great bargain right around $55 with a receiver. I've never had a range issue either.

Sanwa mx6 is a good deal for the money. Tactic and Spektrum make even more budget remotes. Not saying they're bad their just lower end cheaper feeling.

Futaba 3pv would be good at the $100 price point. But I would just get a used futaba 4pv. Used should be somewhere in the $150 range

Best bang for the buck that I have tested is Radiolink, more systems worth exploring here:
Which surface radio system is the best?
