Servo help

hi all, I started racing about a year ago. I run onroad vta, usgt. My question is what’s the difference that matter in servos. They range from $60.00 -$200.00 plus. Can someone explain the differences and what I should look for for each class per say. Thanks for the help.

Key features that set servos apart are speed and torque, quality of components to include all metal gears such as steel or titanium, some servos come in all aluminum cases to prevent the chances of damaging a mounting hole. Additional cost for waterproof, etc. Most modern servos are digital where you want one with a higher resolution which will make the servo feel smoother and give you more precision. Some radios do not have frame rate (servo signal speed) adjustment which can limit your servo selection but most modern radios will let you adjust the frame rate to suit the servo specs. More expensive servos tend to offer better warranty, but that can be a risk as very few manufacturers offer any service protection after the warranty expires, then the servo become disposable if something goes wrong beyond gear replacement (do not buy a servo that doesn't offer replacement gear sets). For some people it might be more cost effective to go with a budget servo which can be less than half the cost of a servo with a limited warranty. Not uncommon for servos to be redistributed for double the price through a US distributor, same servo just different brand name but you get better warranty protection through the US distributor, however you must buy through a US channel to get warranty protection, even in some cases where the product shares the same name, many brands will require proof of purchase before they honor their warranty.

Which servo is right for me?
