Default Protek Black Label too tall?

Hey folks, per the pics above, has anyone ever experienced the servo connection rod having to point downwards in order to connect to the steering column? Should I install a shim like in the last pic or is the Protek Black Label not a good fit for the MP9?

As long as the rod doesn't hit anything the angle isn't an issue.

If its too much for your taste see how much clearance is under the servo, they have rubber servo grommets that are thinner as well.

edit: i forgot to add, if you keep an eye on it and flex and twist your chassis by hand to make sure the servo never touches the chassis plate as well, on the old MP9, it was an issue with some servos, and it rubbed the annodizing away as well as sometimes the screw heads on the bottom of the servo got damaged as well
