Futaba Telemetry

Was looking at putting the temp sensor on the engine head to monitor temp. And maybe receiver pack voltage. Curious if anyone has messed with this and know how to set it up etc.

Get ahold of Roelof here on rctech, he has played with it I believe.

Nope, I made my own Telemetry.

But so far I know it is plug and play as long you use a T-FHSS mode and enable telemetry in the transmitter menu.

Get that thing running. I got a temp gun for now. 😁

Roelof, you seem to be really knowledgeable and I have another question. Does turning off telemetry tend to improve latency on most radios?

Roelof 05-12-2019 11:07 PM

The framerate will be higher. I have meassured about 280Hz with telemetry and w/o 333Hz. Latency I do not know but I expect it will not be different.

Latency itself is how fast the information from finger to servo is transmitted. This steady latency makes the movement predictable and you will get used to it.
Framerate will give you a variable latency, The lower the framerate the wider the window of that variable latency. This variable latency makes the movement of the car less predictable so you want an high framerate.

As a good example take an old 27/40/72mhz transmitter. Because there is no processor and calculations involved the latency is very low (lower than 2.4GHz systems) but because of the framerate is just 50Hz your (extra) latency can be between 0 and 20msec.

SBS-01V External Voltage Telemetry Sensor

Hello!

I have a transmitter Futaba T3PV and receiver R314SB ... so my question is about SBS-01V External Voltage Telemetry Sensor:
- is there any kind of adapter on which I would solder the wires from SBS-01V sensor instead of the the soldering the wires from sensor directly to motor controller wires?
- the mentioned adapter would be connection between motor controller and power battery
- in that case I can use the SBS-01V sensor also on other models, I would simply disconect sensor and plug again on some other model
- for better understanding of my question please see attached picture.

Thank you for the answer.

You could just make your self a jumper / extender out of a pair of XT-60s (or whatever connector you are using) that has the taps for the battery voltage sensor.

Hello!

If I use at the moment HXT 4mm Bullet Connectors I think that I should bought something like below HXT 4MM Bullet Male to Female adapter and then cut away JST Male Adapter and use the same wires for attaching/soldering the external voltage sensor...any opinion?

Thank you.

Hello!

Has anyone done something similar...any opinions? Would these even work?

Thanks.

Just solder your own adapter.
I think I would just solder a female micro connector (of some sort ) with a bit of wire to the battery connector or the ESC.

Futaba 3PV external voltage telemetry sensor

Hello!

I have a transmitter Futaba T3PV and receiver R314SB ... so my question is about SBS-01V External Voltage Telemetry Sensor:
- it is possible that I apply the wires from external voltage sensor on below battery discharge wires, before I solder the correct battery plug on the battery cable?
- ofcoures in that case I should not use the battery wires for charging the battery
- in that case I can use the SBS-01V sensor also on other models, I would simply disconect sensor and plug again on some other model
- any opinion?

Hello!

Any advice on above topic...I think that it should work?

Thank you.
