My sons OMG D-Run ESC just smoked!

bought my son a omg setup, got him an epic 10.5 motor. And a D-Run ESC for his birthday.
wired it up last Sunday, Tuesday afternoon it smoked when he went to gently backup!

bottom line, is OMG gone out of business? Is there a service number, address? I can’t find anything!!

im so frustrated I can’t think

Xcenter

I am not really sure if there is a way to get a hold of them, as their FB is not reachable.

Yeah, dealer I bought it from is working on it, we’ll see.
I’m certain that what was done with it was well within it’s design limits.
(literally just drifting around in his room at the foot of his bed)
I’m glad it didn’t catch the house on fire!

I would try to get a replacement from the seller if you can. Can't say I've actually heard of that brand other than what I just saw with a google search and none of the websites related to OMG RC had that speedo listed.

This one?
OMG Thunder Power D-RUN 120A Brushless ESC w/ Program Card Blue (Free Ship), ,(D-RUN 120A-V1-A)
Looks like it might be a rebranded/copy Toro 120A esc. Program card looks ghetto lol.

If you can't get a replacement ESC through the seller just get a straight refund and buy another brand ESC.

Re: catching the house on fire - I would treat that as a real concern regardless of the quality of parts you're running, especially if LiPo batteries are being used. It goes without saying to use LiPo bags etc to minimise the risk.
