Quick BEC question

I have purchased a castle link BEC 2.0. One side connects to the battery and there are 2 outputs you are supposed to connect to receiver. Can I connect my lights and and servo to the outputs instead? I understand I have to send the signal cable to the receiver. This should work right? Currently everything runs of the power the ESC runs to the servo and all the accessories are connected to it. Some of these accessories don't run on 8v, so instead I just want to run my lights and servo. I am assuming LEDs will be brighter.

You can get a HolmesRX bypass adapter with auxiliary output, which allows the external BEC to just power the servo and lights. The ESC BEC will then power the receiver and any other accessories that are plugged into the receiver. In this case, you would just plug the two wire plug from the external BEC into the bypass adapter and the other power lead from the external BEC isn't used.

There are 2 outputs because at full load it is more current than a single plug can handle. You don't have to run both wires to the receiver. There is no issues running one of them to a light set and the other to the receiver. They are wired together internally and the is no need for both of them to be used in most setups. As mentioned by Bri, Holmes Hobbies makes a bypass adapter that allows you to run a servo off of the BEC without hooking it up to your receiver. That is helpful if your servo can use a higher voltage than your receiver or any other servos in your model.
