Trinity mod rotors are legit, I bought a meter to check the stats for myself just to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off.
There are several options to consider, and our club allows the Punisher, I pulled out the rotor that came with the motor and got a reading of 1610 mG which is right on the fringe of being a certified rotor: https://live.staticflickr.com/7825/4...e8f437a108.jpg The highest ROAR legal rotor you can get is the TEP1119CX Strength Level: 1675+ I bought the Team Spec 13.0mm Ultra High Torque Rotor - Gold (Outlaw Stock) and got a reading of 1934 mG... yeah buddy! https://live.staticflickr.com/7839/4...cba73b49d6.jpg Unfortunately my meter maxes out at 2000mG and sure enough my larger 4WD SCT rotors could not get readings with it and I'm not willing to spend more than $30 for a gauss meter, , ha! |
Looking for suggestions on rotors for non-off-road application. Picked up two 7t’s came with the blue rotor. After briefly talking with the folks at trinity they thought it may work good for our application for a mod motor with smooth power Our application is sct based oval conversions at about 90oz. Tracks are higher grip, carry a lot of speed and out of the throttle very little. I would have thought the red rotor was ideal but looking for ideas. Mod motors are new to us, we had been running 13.5 before and seems most folks are off-road folks wheee I believe you run the strongest rotor you can to pull the chunk a monks out of the turns to get over the jumps. Too much initial torque power for us isn’t as good because it will blow tires loose but we need it down the straights. I don’t mind adding boost but figured I’d see what seasoned mod guys would suggest. |
I recently got into 2WD Mod SC Oval with MWM bodies and most of the seasoned pros in my area are running 4 Pole SCT motors in the 4800KV range... I have seen some guys run 540 sized 7.5T motors but they aren't keeping pace... at the very least I would go with the highest torque rotor that I linked before (Outlaw Gold) if you want to have a halfway decent setup, but would seriously reconsider getting a 4 Pole SCT motor unless your club is limiting to 540 motors.
