PN Racing 2.4Ghz 3Ch Micro Receiver Compatible Spektrum DSM2

DX3S description states its compatible with dsm2 surface. Kenon said no problem, will work.
I depress the bind button, turn on receiver. Receiver orange light blinks rally fast. I attempt to bind on the radio and the blinking light slows pace then turns off after 10 seconds.
Ive tried the 11ms and 16.5ms rates.
Any ideas?

On Spektrum air radios, sometimes they won't bind if the transmitter is too close to the receiver. Try taking 2 or 3 steps away from the receiver when you bind.

Unfortunately it may not be compatible, the first run of DX3S radio were DSM only and will not work with any DSM2 receivers. On the back side of the radio is there a boat emblem? If yes, then it is DSM2 compatible. If no then it will not work. Here is a link for reference.
