Xpert Servos

I've been a Protek servo user .... just wondering if the Xpert servos are very good (comparable to Protek)with Sanwa receivers and how many tooth does it have. I know my Proteks have 25T.

Xpert servos are somewhat new to the car scene. However they are very well known in the RC helicopters and have a very good reputation. I'm seriously considering trying one of the low profile alum case brushless servo in my xb2 buggy.

I use xpert servos on 2 of my touring cars and they work fine. They have the same splines as Futaba so your 25T servo horn should drop right in.

The ONLY complaint I have is that for the low profile servos doesnt support HV. They can only support up to 6.6V which Ive gotten away with 7v but thats about it. You risk damaging the servo if you give 7.4v to the servo.

They also sing to you if you power up the servo but doesnt receive a receiver signal.

Did you have to shave the servo plug to fit in the wireless sanwa receiver just like the protek servos?

i had one. it wouldn't center consistently. never went back.

If you have xpert R3HV, it will support up to 8.4v. Other advantage, they are Sanwa SSR compatible.

Nope, they are sanwa receiver compatable

Roelof 02-19-2019 10:56 PM

This one seems Futaba SR compatible:

Anybody else have play in the servo horn spline? i have the Xpert R3.

My R3 is tight. what horn? I'm using xray xtra stiff servo saver.

I should have been more clear. Not the servo horn on the spline but the actual shaft has a little play.

ProTek servo user here as well. Just got a Xpert PI-3431 to try. Hopefully it will be trouble free like the Protek's. In the item description for the Xpert, it claims to have a "start sonorant." Does that mean that it "sings" to you when it starts up!

to my understanding the receiver drops the voltage to the servo I havnt had any problem

No receiver is dropping the voltage to the servo's unless you have a special BEC receiver

As Roelof stated, unless you have a special receiver, most RC receiver doesn't regulates output voltage, the voltage output of the receiver is determined through the ESC's BEC instead.

The positive and negative leads on the ESC is connected throughout all the channels.
